This guide informs on finding articles and covers legal and interdisciplinary databases, newspapers and working papers.

Databases

  • Google Scholar
    Offers citation counts for articles including citations in unpublished working papers, links to citing items in Web of Science. For authors with a profile offers total citations, h-index, and i10 index.
  • HeinOnline
    Offers "author" profiles with citations to the author's articles by cases, articles (total), articles in the last ten years, articles in the last two years and accessed counts. For articles, provides cite counts and times accessed.
  • Scopus
    Allows viewing the h-index graph for an author, breaks down the citations of an article or author's articles by year, offers the option to create citation alert and more.

  • Web of Science
    Tools for metrics include:
    *Ability to create citation report by author which has a breakdown of times cited by year, h-index, average citation per year, and sum of non-self citations for the author.
    *Ability to create a citation map for articles
    *Offers citation counts for articles (within content on database)
  • SSRN
    Tools for metrics include:
    *Offers download counts for individual papers on SSRN.
    *Permits download total paper SSRN downloads by author.
    *Permits sorting downloads by Top Law Schools (and within that New Downloads, New Papers, New Downloads Per Paper within the last year and all time)
