Visiting the NYU Law library

The New York University School of Law library is located in Vanderbilt Hall at 40 Washington Square South, Manhattan.

 

Public Access

The NYU Law Library is open to visitors by appointment.

We encourage electronic delivery of materials when available, or to visit other NYC-based depositories listed here

As a designated Federal Depository Library, the NYU School of Law Library provides free access to Federal Depository Library Program content, including online. Most of the print materials selected by the Law Library through the depository program relate to law. [By Appointment Only]

Visitors to the Government Documents Collection (FDLP)

  • You may request an appointment by reaching out via email: lawlib-access@nyu.edu.
  • Appointments are generally available between 8AM and 3PM, Tuesday through Friday.
  • Please reach out to us to schedule an appointment at least 2 weeks in advance of your visit.
  • Please consult the library catalog to ensure that the documents you are interested in viewing are housed on-site in the Law Library.
  • Be sure to bring a valid government-issued photo ID on the day of your confirmed visit.
