Copyright Guide for Instructors

A guide for instructors on copyright issues to consider before posting material to the course management website.

Copyright Guide for Instructors

This is a simplified guide for NYU Law instructors on copyright issues to consider before posting material to their course management website.

Copyright Workflow for Instructors

Depicts a flowchart for instructors on copyright considerations before posting materials on their course management website. It starts with a question "Are any of the following true? - Material is in the public domain; Material is covered by fair use; Owner has given permission for the material to be used; Material is subject to another exception. Upon answering "No, None are true", the flowchart directs the user to the next suggestion on the right side, which is "Link to the material itself, OR (capitalized), obtain permission from the copyright owner." If the user answers 'Yes, At least one is true", they are directed to the left side of the flowchart, where "Material can be posted on the course management website." The background of the visual is dark blue.
