Law Library

The NYU Law Library, located at 40 Washington Square South (Vanderbilt Hall), consists of the Main Reading Room on the first floor of  Vanderbilt Hall, 2 basement levels in Vanderbilt Hall, 2 basement levels under Sullivan Street, and a basement level under Furman Hall.

The collection, historically regarded as among the deepest research collections in the world, includes substantial primary and secondary sources for U.S., International, and New York laws.  The library maintains both print and electronic sources, described here, and in other guides available to you.

Congratulations and welcome to NYU School of Law!

This guide is intended to give you some basic information on the Law Library.  The librarians and staff are here to help you succeed in your law school careers.  We are available to help you with your legal research questions and provide information on the resources available at the library.

Feel free to stop by the Reference Desk in the Main Reading Room if you have any questions.
