Discovery: NYU Law Library's New Catalog Features

This guide is an introduction to NYU Law Library's new search interface, called "Discovery."

Finding Law Library resources in Discovery

The library has launched a new way to search our physical and electronic resources, Discovery. Use the search box above or visit Discovery to start your search.

Logging in to MyEBSCO

Note: You can use Discovery in "Guest" mode, but you should sign in for the most complete search results and customizable settings. You do not have to create a separate username/password for Discovery. You simply have to click the banner to sign in using your existing NYU NetID username and password.

Once you have clicked through, you will see the "MyEBSCO" icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen. Click on MyEBSCO to manage your personal preferences, saved searches, saved projects in progress, and more.

As a reminder, users without NetIDs won't be able to access NYU's resources unless they are on campus with guest access. Contact the Law Library if you need help accessing the library.

Filtering Search Results

Once you have a list of search results in Discovery, you can easily filter down your results based on a number of categories. These include:

  • Source type: academic journal articles, eBooks, physical Books, and more
  • Language
  • Year of Publication
  • Whether the content is Peer-reviewed
  • Whether the full text of the content is available online
