Tax Citator Basics

Many tax database allow users to shepardize a tax case, an IRC section, IRS regulations, IRS documents, and so on to find other legal materials and publications that cite the pertinent material.

Tax Databases Offering Citators

Citator 2nd, Checkpoint
On the "Federal" tab, select "Citation and Other Search Tools" below the search bar, then select "Citator 2nd" in the menu on the left-hand side.
KeyCite, Westlaw
Where available, click the flag next to the the title of the case, statute, or regulation.
Shephard's, Lexis
Where available, click "Shepardize Document" on the righthand side when viewing a case, statute, or regulation.
